What is KANT?
A small team with one stubborn belief: the surface you prepare your family's food on should be the cleanest thing in your kitchen — not the dirtiest. So we build cutting boards out of surgical steel. Nothing to rot, nothing to hide, nothing to replace.
30 seconds from our founder.
Matteo · Founder, KANT · voice memo
It began with a moldy
cutting board.
The moment
Matteo flips his wooden cutting board over after years of daily use — and finds the underside black with mold. The board goes in the trash. The question stays: why is the surface we prep food on the most neglected object in the kitchen?
14 months of prototypes
Wood rots. Plastic sheds into your food. Plain steel slides around and dulls knives. The answer took over a dozen prototypes: surgical 304 stainless, a micro-textured surface that grips food and spares edges — and the folded front lip that locks the board onto the counter.
Designed in Germany, launched
The first production run of the KANT board sells out in weeks. The edge hook becomes the thing every customer mentions first — and the reason most of them never go back to wood or plastic.
Thousands of kitchens
Still a small team. Still answering every message ourselves. Still building things we want on our own counters — boards, and now cookware, that you buy once and keep for life.
Small team. Big opinions
about kitchens.

What makes the board
different.

A zero-pore surface
Wood grain and knife grooves hold on to what you cut. Surgical 304 stainless has no pores at all — ten seconds under hot water and it is genuinely clean, not kitchen-clean. Nothing soaks in, nothing smells, ever.

The edge that locks on
The folded front lip hooks over your counter edge — eleven versions deep. Chop with full force and the board does not move a millimeter. No wet towel underneath, ever again.

A texture that spares your knives
The micro-hammered surface grips food while your edge glides — the reason cooks report sharp knives after months of daily use on steel. Tomatoes stay put. Onions stop sliding.
Built for decades, not seasons
No warping, no cracking, no replacement cycle. Dishwasher every night if you like — it is the last board you will buy, on purpose.
