The coating problem

Where do you think
the coating goes?

Every non-stick pan you have owned lost its surface over time. It did not evaporate. It left with your dinner, flake by flake.

Worn non-stick pan with scratched, thinning coating

It peels

Blistered, curling, bare metal underneath. This pan was two years old and used normally.

Old non-stick pan preheating on a gas hob

It breaks down hot

Coatings begin degrading around 500°F — exactly the heat a good sear needs.

Stack of worn out non-stick pans

Then you buy another

Six months of release, then the treadmill starts again. Most kitchens repeat this for years.

The honeycomb

We did not invent a coating.
We removed the need for one.

Thousands of hammered cells lift your food a fraction off the steel, so it releases on contact area alone. The same trick woks have used for centuries — just made properly, in 304 stainless.

Radical honesty

They slide off a properly preheated pan. Two minutes, a little fat, and it behaves. That is the whole trick, and we would rather tell you now than at breakfast.

First time I have cooked eggs on steel without swearing

I had written off stainless after years of scrambled eggs welding themselves to the pan. Two minutes of preheat, a knob of butter, and they slid around like it was coated. Same result every morning for three weeks now. The method is the whole product.

Threw out three “non-toxic” ceramic pans

Every ceramic pan I bought lost its release inside a year and then started chipping. I got tired of the cycle. This one has nothing to lose. Six weeks in and it behaves exactly the way it did on day one, which is a sentence I have never written about a pan.

Metal spatula, every single day, zero marks

I cook with steel tongs and a steel spatula because that is what I am used to. Scraped fond off the bottom with real force after a sear and there is not a single mark on it. Nothing to protect means nothing to damage.

The crust I could never get on my old pan

My non-stick always steamed the steak instead of searing it. This holds heat properly, so I get a genuine dark crust and actual fond in the pan for a sauce. Rib-eye on Saturday looked like it came out of a restaurant.

Bought it after reading about PFAS and never looked back

Two small kids at home and I did not love the idea of flaking coating in their food. This is one material. Nothing to leach, nothing to shed. My wife was sceptical about the preheat thing for about four days and now she uses it more than I do.

Takes about a week to learn, then it is perfect

Honest review: my first two attempts stuck because I was impatient and threw food into a cold pan out of habit. Once the two-minute preheat became automatic, everything changed. One star off for the learning curve, not for the pan.

Straight into the dishwasher, every time

My cast iron needed babying and my non-stick needed hand washing. This goes into the dishwasher with everything else and comes out fine. If something is really stuck I fill it with hot water for a minute and it wipes out.

Induction to oven without thinking about it

Sear on the induction hob, then the whole pan goes into the oven at 220 to finish. No plastic handle to worry about, no coating temperature limit in the manual. It is the only pan I reach for on a weeknight now.

Half the weight of my cast iron and I actually use it

My Le Creuset lives in a cupboard because I dread lifting it. This one hangs on the rail and gets used daily. Same sear, no wrist workout, no seasoning ritual. That difference is the entire reason it gets used.

Good pan, but you genuinely have to preheat it

Build quality is excellent and the sear is great. But if you are the kind of cook who throws food into a cold pan and walks away, you will hate this. I lost two omelettes learning that. Three stars is on me, not the pan, and I still use it every day.

The glass lid is better than I expected

I assumed the lid was a throw-in. It fits properly, the vent stops it rattling, and I use it for steaming vegetables straight after searing. Being able to see what is happening without lifting it is genuinely useful.

It looks like the kitchen it is standing in

Modern kitchen, everything stainless, and my old black non-stick looked like a rental item on the hob. This one just belongs. It has picked up a faint heat tint near the rim which I honestly like, it looks used in the right way.

Wish I had ordered two sizes

Everything about it works. Sears well, cleans in seconds, handle stays cool enough to grab bare-handed on the hob. One star off purely because I cook for five and I keep wishing for a second one so I can run two at once. That is a compliment with extra steps.

Rainbow tint annoyed me until support explained it

After a few high-heat sessions the base went slightly rainbow-coloured and I assumed I had ruined it. Support explained it is normal oxidation on stainless and comes off with vinegar, which it did in about a minute. It did come off, but I would rather it had been mentioned in the box.

Straight answers.

Do eggs really not stick?

With a two-minute preheat and a little butter or oil, yes. Cold pan and no fat? They will stick, like on any uncoated pan. That is the honest version.

Is it genuinely free of PFAS?

There is no coating of any kind: no PTFE, no PFAS, no ceramic layer. One material, 304 stainless steel, from rim to base. What is not there cannot migrate.

Will it discolor?

High heat can leave a faint rainbow tint and hard water can spot it. Both are cosmetic and both wipe off with vinegar. Neither changes how it cooks.

Does it work on induction?

Yes, the base is fully magnetic: induction, gas, electric, ceramic. Oven and broiler safe to 500°F, and the glass lid is included.

What if we do not get along?

Cook on it for 100 days. If it is not the best pan in your kitchen, send it back for a full refund. After that, the lifetime warranty covers it.

Buy it once.
Cook on it for life.

Get the coating out of your kitchen and step off the replacement treadmill for good.
